The Power of Giving

As the crisp winter wind begins to blow, snow starts to fall and Christmas draws near; we as humans are inspired to give. We give our time to charities, gifts to loved ones, and monetary contributions to nonprofits and small businesses. So what is it that makes giving so powerful? In this blog, we are going to dive into the sense of being generous and how you can give to some good causes this holiday season.[

In a 2006 study performed by the National Institutes of Health found that when people gave to charities, regions of the brain associated with pleasure, social connection, and trust were activated as endorphins are released creating a “warm glow” effect, referred to as the “helper’s high.”

If you’re looking to support a business or nonprofit who are making a difference this holiday season, look no further, we have several campaigns to share, and contributing will give you that “warm glow” effect.

A Los Angeles-based company, WUNZ, is working with the Los Angeles Mission to create a Workforce Development Program for the homeless: https://impresario.thelocalcrowd.coop/campaign/wunz-apparel-in-action/

The Yay Foundation (a nonprofit organization),  is working to bring hope and strength to young adults in underserved and disenfranchised communities that are negatively impacted by mental health issues: https://impresario.thelocalcrowd.coop/campaign/the-art-of-being-yay/
